I would love to see an updated photo of where the boathouse used to be, if someone had time to take it. It would be interesting to chart the changes on the subreddit.
I was born in that town at the Heywood Hospital, and I don't recall seeing it either when I was younger, nor when I revisited it as an adult after I'd moved away.
And agreed about what that town has become. It's now mostly just old furniture (I think??) factories, old toy stores, and the giant chair.
