No worries, if anyone says screw your window shut, dont do that, Would be bad news in a fire.

also when you buy that stick to wedge your window shut. save the 3 foot section and put it next to your bed. if anyone does come through the window hit them with it. one stick, two jobs.

I wouldn;t worry too much , folks like this have been around allston /brighton for ever and usually target the easiest places. since so many drunk college kids leave doors and windows open. An ounce of prevention goes a long way in this situation.

If you have windows directly off the fire escape., as it sounds you do. get some small strapping like this cut it to length and wedge it above the bottom sash so you cant open the window from outside easily. They can still break a window but its a cheap deterrent.

Ive been a working photographer for over 20 years and only had one shutter/mirror assembly ever go bad. it was on a canon 1ds mark II so it was a while ago, and it cost 300 bucks with a CPS discount.

I got an R3 back in early August of this year and I just checked I have just under 50 K shots on it. although thats a mirror less camera so, slightly different game.,

yes, what are the other numbers of shoots you have heard?

you can listen to the entire police radio transmission here

about half way through is when the officer calls in shots fired., and just after that another officer radios dispatch saying he heard 5 shots, dispatch confirms it was the police doing the shooting

Just to ask the question. hypothetically, if the oven had a convection feature turned on, is that fan just moving the air around the ovemn? or introducing outside air? if outside air., I imagine it would just feed a fire in this case. but Im guess, no outside air is introduced to the oven. Perhaps a reddit oven pro can fill me in?

You caught a lot of flak here, photo/art is a subjective thing. If OP is cool with the shot and likes it all good. But OP put it online, meaning, some people will take time out of there day just to be shitty. I have worked in many areas of the photo world for over 25 years, and personally I am not loving the shot, its a fun moment for OP to remember, and thats great

HDR can and is over done a lot. its the same way that its hard just to drink just one beer, ya gotta try 2-3-4 and see what happens.

All that said, if I coudl say one thing its that the photo is flat, meaning it doesn't have a pure black and white in the photo. meaning 0 or 255 respectively on the histogram, ( basicly 0 represents black areas in the image, 255 represents pure white in the image. you can see your histogram here. https://imgur.com/a/WW6LWFo

and this explains image histograms a bit more. they are very helpful when shooting digitally. https://www.digitalcameraworld.com/tutorials/cheat-sheet-how-to-read-a-histogram

maybe try re processing the image. and see what different options you get, you might like some and its a good way to learn how to process images better. If this image came out of a camera app as we see it, then the app did some crazy HDR stuff and that's that.

also get an Italian sub with extra hots at duxbury pizza

Good luck
