When someone corrects your error, you could graciously accept it, or you can get defensive and pretend it wasn’t really an error.
The first way is much better, and it increases your credibility instead of diminishing it.

Of course, everything in Hawai’i comes with rice. Curry, stew, chicken cutlet, hamburger . . . gonna come with rice

I don’t think you know that large animal veterinarians exist. Artificial insemination is very much part of their job description.

The US was actively engaged in its own imperialism in North America during Monroe’s presidency, and “the Monroe Doctrine” didn’t even get that name until after the phrase “manifest destiny” had been coined.
The doctrine was intended to keep European powers from reestablishing themselves in the Americas, because that would be a threat to the US. It was not, in any way, an indication that the US believed the non-white inhabitants were better equipped to govern themselves.

The tax rates in 1947 were higher/the brackets were lower. $3550 would have represented almost 6 months’ salary.

Cocaine is heavily processed; it’s not all natural. But the other two are just as God made them, so smoke ‘em if you’ve got ‘em, I guess.

Utah also had a Zion curtain law until five years ago that required restaurants to have a barrier between bartenders and customers to prevent people from seeing alcohol poured or mixed.

Reply to comment by MortalWombat1974 in TIL the Port Chicago disaster accounted for 15% of all African American casualties in World War II by Butthole_Alamo
It might be much lower; the OP references “casualties,” not KIA. According to Wikipedia, “A total of 708 African Americans were killed in combat during World War II.” The cited source is not online, however: Micheal Clodfelter. Warfare and Armed Conflicts- A Statistical Reference to Casualty and Other Figures, 1500–2000. 2nd Ed. 2002 p. 584 ISBN 0-7864-1204-6.
Given that the rate of wounded to killed is typically 3:1, that death toll may be about right. Hard to say without knowing about other non-combat fatalities, though.
