Agree with you on Find my friends, I use it too. The main thing is just letting people know you're open to do something if they want to join. Which atm is a lot more 1:1 messaging eg on message. All good !

This is actually something we spoke about a few months ago. Imagine if you could only play games with friends if you pre-planned them. No way! It's so normal to see a friend online and just join their session.

So this was the original thing we were quite focussed on, and happy to share a bit of background we did not build this first. When looking at a bunch of services, we noticed a missing quality and connection with the people we'd meet. And a difficult incosistency with the experience we'd have which meant we'd try less and others we spoke to said the same.

We'd need a lot of people using it in a small area to make sure users have a really good experience. This is why we started by trying to make the app really useful between friend groups and then give us the ability to broaden to help people meet new people through Outside. Right now, this is possible via mutual friends a friend can invite to join which is typically more natural but really damn tough. So we want to start by making it easier to meet mutual friends and then progress towards all new people :)

We've got a tonne of ideas here and want to give people a way better experience than what they're used to. Genuinely appreciate your feedback!

Hmm maybe? but not exactly! People mostly share things their about to do or want to do and friends can join. Things do happen spontaneously though if they have people nearby which is fun.

So less checking in I guess but more trying to make something happen. Appreciate the question!

Thanks a lot ! u/sardiath, we just added a simple web view a few weeks ago to be more accessible. Would love to get to Android too! We've been pretty focussed just trying to make sure the apps super useful on iOS and then we're going right to Android :)
