Pretty pumped for this. When I occasionally wander in I always look at the huge under construction aviary net/dome up by the elephants (where the gate is on the bridge) and play the Jurassic Park song in my head.

Honestly take away the political figures in this discussion and this is much better for data privacy and right to forget. There's similar things for Reddit and frankly I think for an average person these things violate privacy in a way because they remove your right for Reddit to forget your data. I'm sure people would argue over this but the idea that we should archive everything everywhere all the time for everyone is not a comforting one to me personally. And while public figures are different usually there's no distinction made for these types of capabilities.

Yes, it's already in motion. Google Connecticut Ave redevelopment.

The residential visitor parking pass is not through a building. It's through the ParkDC portal. However, I believe if his building is not zoned for residential parking he won't be eligible to print a pass. Also, there's plenty of garages in DC that have longer term parking (like the Union Station one) that you could use - won't be cheap, but it's possible. Many hotels as well will let you park in their garages.

People treat Connecticut Ave like a highway. Can't wait for the redevelopment of it.

20 min walk to the mall is nothing. The alternative is what? Living directly on the mall? That'd be a nightmare. There's nothing there as far as living amenities.

You deserve to be higher up just based on the breadth of your rankings. You've eaten a lot of chicken sandwiches.

Not sure when the last time it was you went but prices are $16+ at lucky buns and keep in mind it's table service so you're expected to be tipping (whereas RR you can just take out). It's way pricier.

If it's a corporate landlord, tell them they need to provide space heaters immediately, and if not, or they're assholes, demand a hotel room. If it's a private landlord be a little more understanding but also know they are also required by law to maintain heat.

I'm ready for some hate but I don't understand lucky buns at all. It's extremely pricey and serves mediocre food with no attention to any kind of presentation. Plastic cups, plates, beer straight out of the 24-pack for premium prices. The vibe is dive bar but with $20 hamburgers and $10 beers. The service when I went there was not good either, it was like I was supposed to be thankful that they were serving me. I went in totally wanting to like it with no preconceived notions. It seems like a restaurant that thinks it's a social club (or maybe it is)? I guess I'm not the target audience...
To the question, Roaming Rooster is definitely another option but really Popeyes is going to get you most of the way there and also cost less than $5... Kind of a sad state of affairs.

Rock Creek Park. Upper NW near the Smithsonian Zoo (Woodley Park, Cleveland Park) and the National Cathedral and Cathedral Heights. You can also take a trip to Old Town Alexandria via Water Taxi from the Wharf or Georgetown.

Microstrategy is in use at some large three letter agencies. Just a year or so ago I was almost on a project using it (thankfully I dodged that). I don't claim to really know much about it but from what I saw it was more of a reporting/BI use case for that specific project. It is absolutely not a data science tool and you're not going to see it mentioned alongside things like Databricks, Snowflake, etc. It is very old hat. Frankly, however, I think if Saylor had put half the energy he put into BTC into his company it may still have been relevant (or at least sold to someone relevant) at some point.

Michael Saylor's initial wealth comes from Microstrategy. A very successful (though if you ask me now becoming more and more irrelevant) technology company based in the Tysons area. To be clear, Microstrategy still exists and has products used by the federal government and other industries. So, he is not rich because he's a crypto bro, he is a rich guy who became a crypto bro after he was already very rich. It's an important distinction. He is more of a corporate executive and business owner who went a little loopy over it, and he uses his Microstrategy company as a vessel for his Bitcoin holdings.

Here's a fun fact for you. If you took that $90K now at 26, invested it in a total stock market (or S&P500) index fund returning 7% per year on average (and compounding annually), and left it until you're 56 WITHOUT EVEN ADDING ANY ADDITIONAL MONEY, you'd have around $700,000 at that time. That's a good start for your retirement money. Best to not spend it since you have a job that can pay the bills. You can treat yourself from your wages.
