Not sure where you can find them for this year, but the Montana State Society at least used to put on their annual Rocky Mountain Oyster Festival, AKA “Testy Fest”, every June. All you can eat Rocky Mountain oysters and all you can drink beer and Crown Royal.

Not that hard. Take a glance at the opposition.

I don’t understand why Bowser is making any effort to keep Holmes in office. Scandals involving these exact kinds of deadly mistakes are the reason she left last time. And yet Bowser brought her back and the same deadly mistakes continue to happen.

Reply to comment by Flermple in WHO is the trumpet player outside Gallery Place?? by skyesongs
OP described the trumpet player in Gallery Place as “next level,” not “repeatedly playing the opening lines to the Sanford and Sons theme and La Cucaracha and somehow screwing them both up a new way each play through,” which rules out the Trumpet Man of NoMa. Trumpet Man has posted up outside of my apartment for years and is loathed by everyone I know in this building. His repertoire doesn’t change, and he hasn’t gotten better. He just plays the same few snippets of the same few songs for hours on end. Thankfully, he started moving around somewhat, so now it’s at least only a weekly occurrence instead of the hours seemingly every day of blaring terribleness.

Their website always made clear there were absolutely no substitutions of any kind for any reason. At some point, I think they just got sick of people asking for accommodations and started responding like dicks, and I don’t think I blame them.

Reply to Arlington moves forward with plan to build pedestrian bridge from Crystal City to Reagan National by lylyls
I don’t even get the inclusion of the 9D alternative. If the goal is to make it usable from the VRE station, then the first option, 7D, is obviously superior. The northern part of Crystal City is also a lot denser with offices, etc. With 9D, you have to head west out of the VRE, walk a couple blocks south, get on the bridge, and then head back north through the parking garage to enter the Metro. Who would want that in comparison to just heading straight over? Who are we trying to benefit with 9D? Just a bit more money to Vornado?

I went once and had a good time. I found the Rocky Mountain oysters unpleasant, but bottomless beer and Crown made up for it. The band was good, and the people fun. That said, I likely won’t go again unless someone else suggests it, because, again, turns out I really dislike Rocky Mountain oysters.
