where in queens are you? what are you looking for in a new location? i made the move from queens to jc after 10 years in sunnyside and astoria and while i don’t regret it, i can tell you jc is very different from queens.
do you need to commute into the city? do you want nightlife? diversity of restaurants and bars? would you prefer to be near a park? is a single family house a must have or are you ok with an apartment in a condo building?

agree. i like my neighborhood and my apt but on the whole jc is a joke at the government/administration level which directly translates to these easily addressable quality of life issues.

this is all i could find, via a local fb neighborhood group. (we don’t even live in saleh’s ward)
the official city social media has not confirmed this because why would they post important time sensitive info that residents actually need

have worked out of snapdragon on monticello in jc and it’s great. good wifi not too crowded with a whole second floor available.

we noticed this too, it seems to have gotten WAY worse in the last couple days for some reason. and in my neighborhood someone’s not feeding their dog right bc there’s a lot of hershey squirts on the sidewalks. it’s terrible.

how is it douchey of you to have them towed??? they’re blocking your driveway. they are pretty clearly in the wrong. i would have called to tow them away after less than an hour.

they probably ran the numbers and figured they can be most profitable by closing on certain days of the week. being open incurs costs like payroll, utilities, supplies, etc.

if you can wait a bit and order online consider buying from nyc troop 6000. it’s the only troop in nyc (maybe in all of gs) for homeless girls.

i would use a sans serif font and figure out what’s going on with west side on the map there. maybe show some love to paulus hook.
edit: change that middle lighter red west side to mcginley square
edit again: why not mimic the original typeface? unless it’s protected IP?

good luck! i lived right next to LIC for 10 years right around the LIC/sunnyside border and i loved it. we only moved to jc for a more affordable apt as we were looking to buy a 2bd with more space.

it’s prob about the same. i’d move to queens. the problem is you aren’t gonna buy something with multiple bedrooms for $500k or less in queens, and even if you could find something in that budget that meets your needs the vast majority of apartments (as you aren’t getting a single family/detached home for that price) are co-ops which generally have unique and unnecessarily difficult rules and financial requirements, making buying somewhat more difficult. not impossible but difficult.

is your commute via car or public transit?
edit: i’ll shoot straight with you, i wouldn’t buy in that area. have you considered the west side? affordable and safer IMO with better mass transit options (better in that you aren’t further from the path)
edited again: others have made valid points re: your commute. where are you living now that you think JC is an easier LIC commute? what time of day are you typically commuting? i moved to JC from LIC and did the drive frequently when we were looking/in contract and it’s not exactly a quick drive unless you do it mad early (like pre-7am) or mad late.
edited for further commuting context that they’re about to close the holland tunnel NJ bound tube overnight for two years so this is perhaps a complicating factor if you drive.

we need more info from you to make this a productive discussion.
what’s your budget? are you willing to have roommates? do you need to be able to easily commute into the city (nyc)? do you want to live in a new building or are you ok with older buildings? do you want to be super close to nightlife, bars/restaurants or would you prefer a quieter area?
edited to add do you want ~luxury~ amenities like doorman, gym/pool on site, etc or are you ok without that stuff?
