Basically how weird US school funding and districting works Basically find the best test score school you can afford a place in it's catchment area and 99.5% of the time it will be the safest and most progressive area you can get in Washington.

Personally the make 3x your rent rule has worked everywhere I've lived, so that's what I would use to determine a decent salary.

They'd be fine for most people, we are pretty spoiled in washington, outside of minor property crime there's only a handful of "bad" areas compared to a lot of US cities lol

If you have kids, 62,000k would be tough, but outside of that you definitely don't need to spend anywhere near that on rent unless you have to live downtown lol.

Your main issue seemed to be prices tho? The number of units taken is 100% relevant to pricing for larger metro areas like Seattle. If the number is low enough and sprea out enough then the change in prices if they weren't airbnb wouldn't be distinguishable from natural market fluctuations....Hawaii is much closer to euro cities in how fragile the housing market is and higher demand form tourists than Seattle....

You'd probably prefer a city like Ellensburg better then, not gloomy in the winter, no rain, sunny arid landscape, but weather still more temperate than the actual Washington desert.

Ehh some cities have tried putting restrictions on airbnb and found it didn't have as much as an impact as they thought. Mostly it's more of a euro city problem, seattle isn't popular enough of a tourist city to have much of an effect.

I'm not sure I'd say texas is a great example lol, I found it to have about the same variation as Washington when i lived there tbh. A state like Pennsylvania might be a better example imo.

Not really, they've made notable historical errors and mischaracterizations showing a underdeveloped understanding of fascism. I didn't want to say anything additionally because I see this type of comment daily.

It means your general grasp of general themes is reasonable but the historical particulars are lacking and therefore you will miss how much more insidious and quiet the fall further into fascism will be in America.
