Agreed, but it’s not just a second hand account, it may be dozens or hundreds of times rewritten by different people since some guy wrote it in the first place, with the intended meaning changed slightly each time until it’s indiscernible from the original. Not all that different from the tangents Reddit posts go off on.

Many US stadiums use the name of the bigger well known city they were originally located in. The SF 49ers play 40 miles away in Santa Clara next to San Jose. The Dallas Cowboys play a half hour away in Arlington. The NY Giants and Jets both play in New Jersey!

I have not watched the documentary. Sad to say but some kids commit crimes so horrible that they shouldn’t be placed in normal juvenile facilities. California used to have a prison that was designed specifically for the under 18 criminals in this category but it was converted to adults and eventually closed.

The comment was “people have been leaving in droves”. If that is true then that should balance out the natural growth from kids growing up and needing housing. Some locations in the state are very expensive, just like exclusive locations in every state, but much of the state is no more expensive than any state. We all don’t live in Malibu and Carmel.

Really? It seems I’m always seeing comments and statistics about how people are fleeing California for Texas. Maybe that’s why there aren’t as many houses being built. As far a NIMBYism goes the state recently passed a law allowing anyone with an existing house to be able to build a second one on the same lot or to convert their garage to an apartment and prohibits local governments from stopping it.

Wouldn’t a bracelet with an id tag like you see on dogs be better than inking your kid every time you go somewhere? For that matter, maybe getting a dog would be better option for people who are regularly losing their kids.

The sad truth to this is the city has to adopt standards for things like parking spaces. If the tree grows bigger and the space shrinks by an inch some lawyer will successfully sue the city for every dinged bumper because the public parking space maintained by the city does not conform to their specifications.
