if it's a book i otherwise enjoy, i'm invested in characters and story arch but i can't be arsed to read the third page-and-a-half landscape description i'll absolutely skip that.
it's not a hard either-or for me.

well yeah. kinda.
of course china couldn't care less. but since the world knows nz is hugely dependent on china, it's just required diplomatic form to at least say something, and if it's just so their other partners can rest assured as to where nz stands.

short answer: yes.

Reply to I wish I could read faster. by [deleted]
one thing that really sped up my reading was a different mindset. learning to accept that i don't have to actually look at every word to understand what i'm reading took my speeds to a whole new level. i started with something i already knew and just flew over the sentences. think almost skim reading. pretty soon i started realizing that i am indeed grasping everything at noticeable higher speeds. and if not you can always go back.
not advised for authors with complicated structures or very involved prose.

it's really good to see her evolve from angry teenager yelling at un crowd to be invited for official talks.
truly satisfying, even more so since too many people (see this thread) are still foaming from the mouth when they only hear her name.

it'd be funny if it wasn't so sad how triggered people are when they hear her name.

it's "thunberg, un" because they held a joint interview after a discussion about the matter.
y'all need to come to terms with the fact that sometimes activists become lobbyists or otherwise influencial political players, and it looks like greta is here to stay.
we don't always need to give our 2¢ about what we think of her. nobody cares.

it wasn't influencers, those were bought (mostly victoria secret models). it was the wannabe influencers and hedge fund kids.
tickets started at $1200, and you still had to travel there. not for the super rich, and quite cheap for what was promised, yet still not exactly every day joe's territory either.
