A 19 yr-old Vincent Van Gogh, photographed in 1873. The only image of him that's been verified by the Van Gogh museum.

A woman in Sarajevo shows off her tattoos in 1912. The image is an early example of a technique called Autochrome, pioneered by the Lumière brothers which allows us to see the early 1900s in colour. I've compiled a large collection of examples of Autochrome via the link in the comments.

A Cough drop salesman on the streets of London, 1877. “One Night Cough Syrup” was sold in the late 1800s, and it contained alcohol, cannabis, chloroform, and morphine. This mixture was available over the counter and promised to eliminate your cough in one night so you could sleep.
