The section through East Fairfield remains closed. They still have at least one bridge to complete and the cement pads at the road crossings have not been completed in several spots. Crews seem to be at it every day though, so maybe it will be done soon.

Fair enough! Gotta admit when I visited places like Chicago and Albuquerque last year for the first time, I wanted to see touristy places too. But I also like to get a taste of what lies beneath the glitter as well.

In Southern Vermont, explore Brattleboro, the old mill town of Springfield, Chester, White River Jct... all interesting places that aren't the "tourist version " of Vermont. Find all the towns in between, follow the rivers, grab lunch at a small store in a small town.

Yeah, get away from Woodstock and go see the real Vermont

And it definitely has a dollar store connected to the supermarket just outside of town. Ditto on the single main street and light poles with flags. And little shops.

Followed a line of Porsches with Georgia plates through the notch a couple weeks ago.
