Glove warmers!? I appreciate your concern, but last weekend I hiked the highest mountain in the Adirondacks (plus two others), below zero the whole day, with a wind chill at the summits something like -30. I think I'll be okay below freezing for two miles, that's like light jacket weather.

Of course I'll watch for new snow, but generally stuff fully melts between storms around there, right?

Hey just wanted to check back in, in case you care to hear about how it went.

Two weekends ago now, I made the CT->MA ride, and went as smooth as butter. I did just what you suggested and shot east from Warren to touch Swansea.

Of course, everything you said was accurate. I came across a few big frozen puddles on the Moosup trail, but the bypass trails were easy to find and easy enough to ride. Then the whole WST was fast. The worst part was the stiff headwind on the EBBP, but hat's NBD. I was concerned about my stamina, but that wasn't an issue at all...steady pace not working too hard, ended up at 13mph average.

That first section from Plainfield CT was indeed in pretty rough shape, but still fun! I think I'll take a run with my trail bike in the other direction, from where the WST horse trails start then head west on all dirt into Moosup. Then some scouting runs on the North-South trail too, to see which bike I'd want to take.

It doesn't have to be a court house or city hall, unless you prefer a literal city hall marriage (which absolutely dos have its charm). Anyone can be ordained by an online church, and is therefore allowed to officiate. RI rules even expressly affirm that online ordinations are totally valid. If you're cool, I can do it for you!

Then you just need two witnesses and you're good to go.

I have a half-decent home woodshop if you just need some space to make the occasional project. I'm not running weekly classes or open shop hours over here, but if there's something you need to get done feel free to PM and we can talk.

Jointer, planer, table saw, sliding miter saw, drill press for the bigger machines, then all your standard smaller things orbital and pad sanders, circular saw, track saw, drills, drivers, grinders, biscuit joiner, bench grinder, loads of clamps, etc.

It's actually not...they link to the warning, but not the forecast that they copied and pasted. That's the link I added.

But even if so...why not post the actual NWS link rather than a link to a commercial site with ads and clickbait? Seems like a no-brainer to me.

>I was hoping the shovel would stay in the garage this year!

No way! We need at least a few good snowstorms this year!

Here's a more detailed forecast from the NWS: https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lon=-71.57408242999433&lat=41.715542475018225 (click the map for a more precise forecast for your location, I just picked a central spot)

And here's the Winter Weather Advisory in place 7pm this evening through 7pm tomorrow (Monday-Tuesday): https://forecast.weather.gov/showsigwx.php?warnzone=RIZ006&warncounty=RIC009

It kinda seems like your inability to explain your logic, then falling back onto saying that words have no meaning is you coping. I'm just trying to understand what you're trying to say, I'm not sure what coping I would be doing.

Yeah public allowed at least when I went pre-covid. Had driven past it a million times on road trips to visit my grandparents in Maine, finally actually stopped to visit a few years ago. There was a security guard, but we just told him we wanted to check out the glove and he showed us to the elevator for the best view.
