This whole thread makes me feel the world is poorly understood by it’s’ inhabitants. Israelites and Islamic communities hold similar sites sacred, as well as Christians, whose most interesting place of worship is in the West Bank.
Everyone needs to get over this stuff. Arabs used to be the most advanced civilization around with astronomy, math, etc and they’ve slowly fought themselves into a period of major regression. 700 AD was their times, and they’ve regressed from it.

I had no idea! I always listen to lots of Buddhist teachers and many have been to Malaysia, and I always thought of it much differently after reading. I had to check Wikipedia to find out Buddhism is about 20% whereas 60% are Islamic

Hmm… I wonder how many windows 3.11 computers are still out there; maybe it’s worth writing one! I miss that clunky ms-dos overlay.

Yeah I got a letter or email from intuit explaining this a few months ago. I really don’t like the fact that one of the most major accounting software programs in existence is reliant on such legacy technology, but then again airplanes are still programmed with floppy disks

Macromedia flash suffered from this a lot too. Who knew how badly browsers needed to be 100% sandboxed back then? Java Applets, OCX, Flash. I think I still to this day have a severe reservation about installing anything that can interact with the web browser. I don’t even like links opening apps

Well, my experience I can certainly confirm is far beyond even natures VR. It was a whole new place in which my previous self vanished and I was with other people in another place. Nothing virtual seeming about it!

spins back time to Kent State
Edit: you’re totally right that it’s only been non right wing riots. UCLA, Kent state, Vietnam war in general, Occupy Wall Street, Rodney King, George Floyd…
Then we have Jan 6th.

Yeah, because the US government lets us protest so peacefully… rolls eyes
I get it that you can protest in a much more pronounced way than many countries, but I definitely think the right to protest in the US has been dying since the 90s. Look at the laws desantis passed in Florida…
