I never said anything about buying a gift card.
We are talking about purchasing gift cards for other people instead of cash - And I’m making a comment as a receiver of gift cards.

As someone who rarely splurges on myself, giftcards are sort of like permission to be able to do so - which is why I like getting them.
I don’t live paycheck to paycheck but I do feel mildly guilty anytime I buy something for myself that is “for fun,” though I don’t feel this way about buying things for other people.
If I get a gift card to a place that is purely for fun, all of the guilt is totally gone.

How much you pay depends on the complexity. I own a business now and have an accountant friend I know handle most of it and just copy what she posts to me into TurboTax, still costs me about $120 for the software [she I’d be happy to pay, but refuses payment]
Before my business, If not for “free file” it cost more like $60 simply because I had a few investments and not just a w-2

Reply to LPT: some exes will ask for a final conversation for “closure” don’t fall for it. by Lexafaye
This is not a one and done type of tip and is highly situational.
You're right in that you never owe someone something, but just because a relationship ends doesn't mean that the two people do not love/care for each other legitimately, they may have just outgrown each other, or may have found that they have different goals in life that they're not willing to give up.
I would not provide this opportunity in cases where a person is known for being emotionally manipulative, or potentially dangerous.
I would provide this opportunity in cases where the love is still there, there is no [or very little] chance of falling back into the relationship, but where I still wished for the best for that person and cared about them.
Of all my relationships over the years, there is only one ex that I am on bad terms with for being an emotionally manipulative and toxic person. She got only exactly what she deserved, which was absolutely nothing. Everyone else? I wish them all the best in life, and even early in the "breaking" would do what I could to make it easier.

Not all needs are urgent needs.
Unless you want to break your life down to be as utilitarian as you possibly can, and at that point, what even is the point?

You know you can buy things you need on Black Friday too, right?

A good DJ at a wedding is also going to be your go to for pretty much everything.
Our DJ was like a secondary day of coordinator who helped us make sure everything ran smoothly, nobody got control of the mic that wasn’t supposed to talk, and hell, he even grabbed us drinks from the bar when he saw ours were empty but we were inundated with people not letting us get over there.
