I don't know how they managed to do it, it's pretty much magic.

Unfortunately my experience with IEMs is limited to the two that I have and both are outside your budget so I can't give you any good suggestions.

But if you follow this sub you'll see there is a new IEM coming out basically every other week that is somehow the most budget friendly and also best IEM. So I think you have a lot of options to choose from, probably even more than headphones.

When I first got my LCD-X’s the leather headrest band was too long so it was touching the metal band. Not very comfortable to say the least.

I contacted their support and they basically told me they couldn’t do anything about it. That kind of soured me on Audeze, that they couldn’t replace a simple part on a $1200 headphone. But they’re stills great headphone.

Idk…. u/nooneasked

That's not a hobby anymore. This guy is tuning for things that will only be noticeable in the most extreme fringe of fringe cases possible and even then only if you have ultrasonic hearing.

And some parts he is just straight making up. "More organic natural warmth across the frequency range"? Sounds like what happens after getting baked and taking a quick trip to Taco Bell.

I assume it was weak soldering around the plugs, I never actually found out the cause. For both sets that I had they lost sound in the right ear cup within a weak. And these were supposedly the refreshed design that was supposed to address that issue.

One set was bought through amazon, the other through apos.

You'll notice that there is no protection where the cable plugs into the headphone meaning any little bump or nudge can stress the plug in. This compounds the issue with weak soldering for the connections. Other headphones have a recessed plug that helps protect from this issue.

I'm not sure of the specific name, all I know is that it's not the standard mmcx connector. Of the few online cable shops I know of Null Audio is the only one that actually has this connector as a build option.

Sorry I don't have more info than that. Trying the shop you bought them from is worth a shot but unless they specialize in making audio cables it's unlikely they will have a third party cable that fits.

FWIW, null audio says they have up to 2 weeks lead time but I placed my order on a Friday evening, had shipping information the following Monday, and the cable itself in my hands by the next Friday. Shipping from Singapore to the west coast US was pretty fast, they are hand made cables after all, and it is a high quality cable, so again, make of that what you will.

I also recently got the IE600 and decided to just get a third party cable after about 2 weeks.

This is the cable I went with, it's a little on the spendy side and I'm not sure it was worth the cost but the iems actually sit comfortably in my ear now. So take from that what you will.

They do have cheaper cables, obviously, but whatever you do make sure you select the right connector that says it's for the IE300/600/900.

For your sake I hope they do too but Hifimans from the bottom of the line all the way to the top are not known for their build quality. I went through 2 pairs of brand new Sundaras in the space of a month that both had the same issue before deciding to go with a different brand.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade, it's a good set up. This is just something you should be aware of.

My concern with this as it is with my own A90/D90 stack is that they tend to get really hot even when not in use but turned on.

Something for the OP to be pay attention to from time to time, especially in summer. Heat is the death of electronics.
