Reply to Hey, gearheads, if you could stop using 384 as a drag strip at midnight with your loud-ass exhaust, that would be grrreeeaaat. by FastWalkingShortGuy
In the early 80s 384 wasnt finished and connected to 84. We would drive onto 384 east from Silver Lane and from a dead stop drag race to the Hilstown St bridge a quarter mile down....

And the rich woman that stoppped the abandoned "bypass to nowhere" at the top of Rt 9 from going thru West Hartford neighborhoods to bypass Hartford and connect with 91N. This doomed Hartford Rt 84 traffic.

Reply to Studded tires by [deleted]
Studded tires are a no brainer! My wife is healthcare and I have a Winter biz and we must drive in any condition 24/7. Snow tires without studs are a marketing scam and a joke, just look to any northern tier state, everyone runs studs. Once u run them u will never go back, they only cost a little bit per tire to stud. Only down side is dry/wet braking falloff, just account for that. Unstudded winter tires are useless. Throw em on 15 Dec rip em off early Mar. My wifes car has crazy big and wide wheels so I have oem nominal size steel rims and studs for her car.

Dont forget about the mix master just over the river in East Hartford in the area that was called "The Meadows". Hundreds of homes, business' and a grade school were demolished with the residents displaced.
