Actually, lots of social media of crowds as part of another organized bar crawl right by there. I believe outside party-organizers running these things holiday-themed. Wouldn’t be surprised if Town Green District people lead an effort to restrict them soon.

Fair Haven gets an undeserved very bad reputation. Yes you will be fine there… It pains me to say it but Fair Haven is poised to become a hot neighborhood with rising rents to follow. I hope I’m wrong about the rents, but even other sections of Fair Haven may soon have rising commercial rents- nearby Armada Brewery just built out a vacant structure and created a new home, upscale Valentino Tailors opened on the other end of Grand, and we all can foresee new apartment developments being proposed, based on city-wide trends.

Let’s Go Hawks. Agreed. That being said More private dollars coming in they closed on the finances. IMO biggest part is building more biotech space on speculation. New Haven is doing ok

You’ll be fine you have the venue. Work with a hotel for block of rooms in advance . If doing a restaurant time, pick one and make early plans. One bonus is I think there are extra “seats” compared to pre Covid, more hotel rooms; Hotel Marcel and Cambria Hotel are new, and seems to be more restaurants…

Not sure of any used there, but if a book lover then make sure you know about the new Possible Futures bookstore on Edgewood Ave, walkable/near downtown.

Reply to Visiting the city for fun weekend, any great spots that are a must check out for non-locals? Also favorite restaurant for special occasion? Thanks y’all by [deleted]
If next weekend, local flavored things are the Open Source weekend, and the NH Docs Film festival. If nice weather Saturday morning go to Wooster Square Farmers market and grab something to eat in the WS park; places for a local drink u might otherwise miss include Old Heidelberg’s or Three Sheets.

Great time of year to ride the vintage trolley line into the foliage starting on the street at Shoreline Trolley Museum; also Audobon St in New Haven has a block party with music today to welcome Long Wharf Theater. If you visit East Rock, New Haven you could go to the summit, and then nearby ice skating started at Skate New Haven, also East Rock Brewery and bring food in from the Food Hall next door.

Not spooky parties, but Armada Brewery has a Halloween Market with music on Sat 29th, and Taste of New Haven does a spooky food tour with a cemetery stop etc, on the 31st
