I never put it in the dishwasher. I use denture cleaning tablets as they work the best. I've tried everything from ice, salt, lemon juice, peroxide baking soda in all forms of combinations. You name it, everything but soap. Denture tablets work the best so far. Fill it full of hot water and drop in two tablets. Let it soak overnight and brush out in the morning. Sparkling. I also throw my seals in there too. And I cap it with the stopper so it cleans the bottom of it. Don't seal it because it'll probably blow up.

I'm a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. This thing has taken some abuse but it's still going strong!

So I did test this against a Yeti. The guys at work all use Yetis and they SWEAR that nothing is better. Well one of our distributors dropped off some swag and I got my hands on a Yeti 14 oz coffee mug and a 20 oz tumbler identical to the ones the coworkers have. Time to test....

The Yeti handily lost even having the advantage of 4 oz over mine. I checked the temp every hour for six hours. In the end the Yeti was 48° colder. Both starting out at 208° with the Yeti finishing at 122° and the Zoji at 170°. The Yeti coffee mug is handy for around the house and I'll use the 20 oz for the odd occasion I forget my Zoji at work.

ETA - Both were tested having sat out the night before with the lids off. Ambient temp was 68°. Before taking the temp each hour each was inverted once to eliminate any cold spots as I suspect that the Yeti loses most of its heat through the lid.
