The soles are tied up next to each other and one is about an inch shorter. You can also see the thickness of the soles is different. Not a prospective thing.

Exactly. I worked as a firefighter in the 1980s and that's what we called ourselves.

That's too funny! I can imagine you looking at them when they were done with the wash. Did you realize at first how much they had shrunk or did you only realize after you tried to put them on?

I’m pretty sure it’s the shoe on the right. I’m guessing that it was so hot that it caused the plastic to sort of shrivel up. The real question is why didn't OP wash both shoes together?
