Could you tell me what technologies changed in the field of chemical engineering from 2003 to 2013 vs what changes occurred between 2013 and 2023? How about in mining? Metallurgy? Shipping? Logistics? Battery tech? Automation? Farming? agriculture? Computational analysis? Food science? Marine biology? Packaging tech? Geology? Construction etc etc.
You only know the tiny tiny tiny little bit that you directly experience every day. When tgat gets disrupted them of course you notice, smart phones and internet apos grab your attention. You do not see all the other stuff that happens in the background to all these other fields because you are not looking and wouldn't understand even if you did.
You also conveniently left out stuff that you should have noticed like the huge advances in space tech (reusable rocket), electric cars, battery tech, renewable tech, cheaper solar and wind and obviously AI which is head and shoulders more important than anything else that has ever been done.

Legitimate sources will start using authentication services. These will probably be based on NFTs and be verifiable. Reputation for accuracy will become the most important criteria when selecting your news sources.

Probably not, I like my privacy and am happy being a loner. I wouldn't rule it out completely and have zero issue with others doing it but just doesn't seem like something I'd do. I may however connect in this way to an AI if I felt comfortable with it. I think our links with AI will be so strong anyway that an official connection won't be a huge leap.

If that is in fact true then fine, however I would need more than some journalist claim, some actual evidence. If you know of anything official, I would really appreciate the link. Cheers

Exactly, they have already built it, the billions are still to come.

I was under the impression that up until now, they onky got 1 billion from Microsoft so why the plural? When an article ignores facts then it really is not worth reading.

How are so many people unable to understand such a simple statement. Do you own CDs? Do you own blurays/dvds? Do you use a music service like Spotify? A movie service like Netflix? Ever used an Uber? Ever not cooked at home and got a meal delivered? Eventually the service model will mean more and more stuff will be done as a service. No need for a car if a super cheap always available uber taxi is available. No need for a kitchen if every meal can be delivered cheaply and quickly. No need for a wardrobe full of clothes (or washer/dryer) if clothes can be delivered as you need them. This can become part of everything in your life including your accomodation. In other words, you will own nothing (because you don't need to) and you will be hapoy (because you have everything you need and it is cheap, reliable and flexible).
Oh no, now you are going to have to pretend that you never read this so you can continue on your bullshit crusade.

This seems to be heavily about chatgpt that has really taken off and resulted in an influx of frankly stupid chatgpt posts. I don't see this as a giid thing but mids always love it. Unfortunately you end up with Futurology and that place truly sucks.

I am planning on having an overbuilt solar and battery system for my home. I should be able to disconnect from the grid and will not use gas so will not be dependent on any external system for power. I believe this is something that will become much more common as batteries and solar panels continue to get cheaper.

Average or maximum lifespan. Very important difference. Average lifespan increase is generally very easy to achieve. 9% increase is not impressive. I want this sort of thing to work but we need to stick to the science and what really works.

People seem to be missing the point of this post. They are clearly alluding to the idea that that is where we are right now. We are potentially in a simulation that we recently created to escape the boredom of a post singularity world.

Maybe op should look at multiple 4080s running together, something like used when mining crypto? I know you can get special motherboards that are designed to allow you to have multiple cards connected, just need a honking great power supply.

The idea is for personal use only, not selling it to anyone. If I read the book and imagine what it is like in that world, I'm not going to be sued, I just have an aide to help me with my imagination. Honestly, I don't live in the US and courts don't accept bs copyright claims here so I don't see that as an issue at all.

There are a few book series I would like to read but I may just wait and then when this tech is around, I'll just feed it the text from these books and get the film generated for me. Billion dollar budget blockbuster equivalent generated just for me.
Also with existing movies, we should be able to feed the movie into the system and then ask for a sequel to be generated. Same style and following up the storyline and themes.

We will likely end up with a usb type key that when used proves that you are human. Anyone who uses a key to try drive a bot will ebd up exposed as the soeed and proliferate nature of the bot will expose how the jey is compromised. That person will then have their key disabled and no longer be able to participate. That will be an awful punishment as they will basically lose access to the internet.

Need to get to true break even. They say they got 120% of the power that they fed to the lasers but no men of the huge magnets containing the plasma or the computing required to keep it contained. Also how long did it run, how much if the energy were they actually able to extract and not just observe. It is a nice first step but still a very long way to go and then we have to deal with cost.

If it waa tested by the developers or people paid by them, I'd expect to hear that no matter how disgusting it tastes.

But does it taste as good and is it as nutritious as other wheat? Usually you get a trade off, maybe more susceptible to disease or insects?

I have a very detailed scientific book written by Erik K Drexler who goes into exactly how they would work with detailed maths and diagrams together with simulations. You can believe some gummy bear on the internet spewing their uneducated opinion or you could keep an open mind based on this book written by an accomplished man. I know which side I am leaning.
