For all those mocking Orange, I think you will eat your words in a few years. It has a makers space, a brewery, a riverside kayak business, the annual river rat race. A nyc investor bought a riverside brick building a few years ago. Check out the aerial views on the intro to the show Castlerock. They are stunning. Also, the old Victoria homes featured in the show. Finally, look at Athol, next door. If one had bought in athol 10 years ago, it’s more than doubled. Athol has everything now. Cinema, chain stores, new roads and traffic lights. Oh, and Tully Lake in Orange is gorgeous.

I’ve repeatedly tried to engage the mbta about bowdoins lack of access. I was finally able to get an answer that the escalator is not being repaired, but eventually replaced. Really bugs me as I’m on the blue line and disabled and I could get to Whole Foods and target there. Never mind the department of mental health is inaccessible which is just shameful.

If you have urine stains I’m surprised you don’t smell it. I had mice in the attic and slumlord wouldn’t do anything. Eventually the smell was so bad I started to cry every time I came home. I stuffed cotton saturated w essential oil in my nose. I got worse ptsd. After almost a year he replaced the insulation. Wat a fucken bastard.

My son lives in Fayetteville nc, a real dump of a city. Rents there have skyrocketed past 2 years also. But mass just keeps getting great press, and so many want out of the red state dumpster fires. Many who are coming are highly skilled and can afford it. I have a housing subsidy thankfully. Good luck. I will say, I love my state. I just moved to boston and there is plenty to do even if you are broke. I always planned to leave for the weather but with the state of the country, and an unexpected disability, I doubt I ever will leave.

I sent my young granddaughters a pic of the fountain inside the Copley library, and said can you believe, this is my library?! My son said their jaws dropped and they oohed and ahhed. Don’t miss it. But, if stairs are an issue, use the modern boylston entrance and the elevator to access the old historic building.

I think your comment was extremely helpful, as someone who uses the subway and avoids stations with only stairs. I went to symphony hall twice since living here (3 months now). The second time I got off at the next nearest stop instead of the stairs at symphony. Some people, I think, just enjoy downvoting, and are emboldened to join in once someone has gone first lol! OP, the mbta has a chart I’ve seen which lists all stations and if and how they are accessible.
