The documentary “Not Carol” opened my eyes to this. It’s extremely dark and definitely not for everyone. But her husband sticking by her and insisting she would never commit such a horrible act if she wasn’t literally insane really stuck with me. Carol never fully recovered but her pain is palpable. Difficult watch but extremely enlightening .

I mean did you try looking up literally any things to do? If all you came up with was “skiing” and “nothing” I can’t imagine you tried very hard. Also, “Plan my weekend for me because I don’t know how to google shit” never really goes over well in this sub.

Now, if you post “I really like 18th century American Art but my partner enjoys Impressionism, should we visit the MFA or the Gardner?” you’ll get detailed, helpful answers. It’s not that we don’t want to help, but we’re not travel agents either.

It’s a bit of a trek since she moved locations. But Tina at Orchid Cleaners in newton is a GEM. Excellent seamstress. She’s repaired, taken in, and hemmed many things for me over the years. And I have a dad who’s particular about the way his shirts are pressed and he swears by her work.

When have you ever seen any of them eat at restaurants in recent years? Even in their younger years it was mostly posh private clubs they partied at. Very rarely spotted at a restaurant open to the public. On a trip overseas I would be fully shocked if they dined out.

They had this in Finland when I visited Helsinki literally a decade ago. We stayed with my partner at the time’s grandma who was like 87 and had dementia and had no clue what the internet was and she had high speed wifi in her home lmao. It was convenient and made sense which is probably why we don’t have that here.

We absolutely love The Wentworth in Jackson NH. Many of the rooms have private jacuzzis. The restaurant there is solid and they have a nice piano bar! It’s a very cozy and traditional hotel, and the service reflects that. There’s also skiing nearby at attitash if that’s your thing! If you’re foodies I would highly recommend Thompson House Eatery which is about an 8 minute walk from The Wentworth (you can also drive but we wanted to enjoy the wine pairings to the fullest so we left the car at the hotel!). Very elevated cuisine, and they grow a lot of veg on site!

Well, there’s another issue. You’re using a PCP who likely has a limited relationship with these hospitals you’re trying to see a specialist at. You need to call the PCPs office and ask them if they can move things along. If there is a concern for a tumor they should be able to get in touch with the specialist’s office and get you in earlier.

Now that you’ve seen a provider, I will say it’s a good sign that they’re not referring you with any urgency. During Covid I worked in an hematology-oncology clinic answering phones and trust me, if anything serious was suspected (like cancer, or a risky blood condition in pregnancy) we would make room ASAP for those appointments. We would FIND room.

If you’re feeling that your symptoms are unmanageable or if there’s something that your provider isn’t addressing, I would urge you to be more communicative. What you’re dealing with is an expected wait for a non-urgent issue. If there are urgent symptoms you might need to be loud about them. I wish you the best and hope you get well soon!

When you move to a new city… you need to establish care with a PCP RIGHT AWAY. Like you’d change your address with your bank, update your car’s registration etc… you needed to immediately establish care with a PCP. A lot of people don’t know this. I’m not saying it’s necessarily your fault. But you waited for a serious medical event to establish care with any provider. A wait is to be expected. Lessons learned.
