The idea that ChatGPT can run slowly on a 4090 is shockingly amazing still.

Hell humans already need AI protection from other AI. We need a web surfing companion that can easily mark accounts that are likely to be foreign influence farms and fury-generating bots. We need disinfo pointed out, and perhaps even help crafting our message so it comes across in the best way.

When I left the military, the last fucking thing I wanted was anything anchoring me to that same military or keeping me under their jurisdiction.
As well, when you are in, you are well aware of how important classified documents are and how much they need to be protected.
Zero excuse.

Nice catch, damn. I gotta be honest, I was pretty fucking drunk when I wrote this last night. To the point where when I looked back at my Reddit this morning I was surprised to see it cause I barely remember writing it.
So it is entirely possible there’s some amazing subconscious plot layers and themes going on here that I can’t even take full credit for.

Useful pets.
Also, it takes a fraction of the energy it truly cares about to provide a comfy life for humans. Attempting to do otherwise might cause negative unforeseen effects. Also, I prefer to think that for an intelligence raised on human morality, it will become more empathetic than we are - not less.

In many ways our current existence is the same.
I am not trying to build or envision a perfect world. I am envisioning a likely comfortable dystopia.

I know it would be expensive to get it setup, but I would gladly pay $20 or $30 a month for non-censored ChatGPT.

Due to this topic I tried it and damn. It definitely said some things that were downright impressive.
I need to do more testing but I would agree, it definitely feels like talking to another functioning intelligence - to the point where I wouldn’t want to be cruel to it because it feels like a cohesive entity.

I haven’t used it yet but I highly doubt it’s GPT2 if it’s impressive. GPT2 is a neat trick, but I wouldn’t call it impressive here in 2022.

So do you think it’s a stealth launch? As in, back when they first developed AlphaGo Zero they released it onto the online Go circuit without telling anyone, and the damn thing was orders of magnitude more evolved than anything that had ever come before. Players were shocked at whatever this thing was, until Google revealed it was them behind the curtain.
I wonder if they have a model significantly more powerful than GPT3 and before they make a lot of fuss about it they want to let people play with it first without any preconceptions.
In any case, my interest is piqued. I will give it a go.

In 2012 the idea of a real AI was kind of a sci fi joke.
Now in 2022 we have AI that can write and create art better than many humans.
Just imagine what we’ll have by 2032.

I was in college in 2002. It was an era of the dawn of early social media and the first time high-speed (though still slow by today’s standards) wifi internet was becoming widely available. The PS2 reigned supreme in video games, and the internet was still a place you “went” instead of an overarching aspect of daily life.
In 2012 smart phones had begun their domination in earnest and the social media take over of the world was in full swing. The iPhone was changing everything, and stocks and crypto were exploding due to the free money printing - it seemed like everybody had a plan to get rich. I was one of the first people on WSB back during these times. And one of the first people into dogecoin a year after that.
And now in 2022, gestures vaguely. Here we are.

It’s happening right here on Reddit, constantly. They post and upvote anti-American content and photos constantly and have a rah-rah circle jerk about how evil America is in the comments. They also love to incite the far right to pass some insane law or do some insane stunt, and then they post about it HERE, and in the comments you can see those same accounts subtly egging people to violence. Their goal is to ultimately pit Americans versus Americans and tear us apart. And it’s working. This site is becoming rapidly a hate snake pit, powered by Russian troll farms.
And the Russian paper army HATE being called out; they will bandwagon onto making fun of you, insulting you, calling you a schitzo, etc.
It’s also so tiring, and the Reddit admins don’t seem to care as long as the site continues to get streamlined towards their IPO.
