Mine was in that range for my most recent bill. I have a 923 square foot old house. Change your air filters if you have central heat, plastic on the windows, but still going to be high. I was actually excited mine wasn't higher after that deep freeze we had.

Places that are hiring that also intersect with places that pay a living wage are a struggle to find.

I bought a house making around that much, but that was 3 years ago. It's on the Northside, is over 100 years old and had a 43 page inspection which was a record according to my agent. Now I make more but with interest rates and housing prices I'm not sure I'll ever be able to move even with a few decent raises. Cost of living has really gone crazy in Springfield since 2020.

They never do the side streets in any of the neighborhoods I've been in. Every year I watch my redneck neighbors smash into each other and go off the side of the road. Normally they get to the main roads when it's warm enough to be effective, but the side streets are what worry me.

They're going to have to rebuild Watkins. That school won't be able to hold an influx of kids that development will bring.
