But if everyone played with their dogs on the tennis courts the courts would get gross. Instead of deciding on a case by case basis it's much easier to say "no dogs."

Bus? But I'm not sure you want to hang around the Port Authority at 2am either. I barely want to be in the Port Authority at 5:45.

Eh, Brooklyn on under 750k would probably leave you with an annoying commute. Actually, a quick look in my neighborhood in JC shows some SFHs under 750k, so you probably could swing it.

If you drop the need for a single family home then Hoboken or Jersey City would work.

I mean, this is going to be everywhere in Jersey within commuting distance of fidi. It sounds like you want a city but without the city and that's a hard ask.

Why would anyone drive from Hoboken to the UES (and vice versa)?

Current status of port authority: pretty damn empty.

This post inspired me to get on the road a few hours earlier. Thank you. My bus isn't full, I'll report back on conditions at the port authority.

If the train is 5 minutes away, the machines work very fast; if the train is pulling into the station, the machines suddenly have never taken a credit card payment in their life.

Same way in the city. There's a bit of a trick to it: There's a light on the reader, red = don't move the card, green = move the card. But don't pull it out too quickly. It's hard to explain.

Can I mention that I make my own bagels and have 2 Nespresso machines?
But yeah, sorry, if I want shop bagels I get them in Hoboken.

Between crypto, Elon's meltdown, the right wing turning their backs on Trump, and the "red wave" turning out to be a big nothing, I feel like many people had quiet thanksgivings this year.

There's a Stop and Shop nearby, and there's a Shop Rite nearby in Hoboken. Trader Joe's isn't a terrible walk either. I never go to Supremo.
