Luckily I’m typically off rush hour. Work a lot of 10-6, some 12-8 and even some 5-1. Usually around 55 minutes each way. Those 5am drives are about 44 minutes though. A bad drive is 1.25-1.5 hours.

I commute to DC 4-6 times a week, thankfully it’s to Georgetown so it’s not terrible as I can avoid downtown and major highways (Also means Marc/metro not a realistic option). But it’s not the best… I can theoretically do 80+% of my job remote but I’m in charge and I just need to be there. Hopefully I can work towards keeping it on the 4 day side most often.

I like white oak tavern for something close by. Still by the parking lot but the other side is trees, so get a table towards the back. Not a lot of great nature based outdoor dining right in the area that I can think of. I’ve always wanted to stop by Woodstock Inn.
Not what you were asking… But if you want a cool spot for beer check out Elder Pine. A bit of a drive but their outdoor area is spectacular. You can check their Facebook or website for food trucks. Most importantly their beer is top notch if you’re not familiar with it.
