I’m probably 8 feet from the screen. I should of said that but that’s what I meant by “Xbox experience” I have a desk that I use with a ultra wide, but 90% of my gaming is done on the couch.

I have my pc hooked up to a 55 inch 4K tv. if I’m not using it for work it’s treated as a kickass Xbox experience. And with monitors getting bigger and bigger I definitely think 4k is definitely relevant to pc games.
That being said there’s still reason to spend over $800 or so on a gpu right now and if you do, it’s because you have extra disposable income not because you need it

The thing is you can now get a 3070 for $400 used. That’ll handle 4k gaming to 99.9% of peoples standards. $1000 used to be the standard price I’d think of a decent computer. now $1000 will get you a solid state storage 4k or vr gaming machine.
now the guys that want to go way overboard can. and those speeds will trickle down each generation. I’ll enjoy buying a 4090 or amd equivalent in a 2 years for $500-700. and that’ll last me another 5 years.

Yeah exactly. a 5D3 is going to be more capable then most entry level photographers will ever need with proper glass.
I have a RP with some used lenses, I think I have $1500 total and it’s absolutely more then I’d need any time soon. the consumer class has basically died out anyway because of smart phones. you used to see people out and about all the time with $500-$1000 set ups, now it’s only people who are absolutely hobbyists or professionals, and they aren’t going to buy entry level gear anyway.
