Firstly, thank you for doing what you can to be a responsible driver! Secondly, please don’t ever stop at the end of a highway on ramp! On ramps are for bringing your speed up to the flow of traffic so you can safely merge. It blows my gasket every time I see someone stopped at the end of an on ramp - it’s even harder to safely merge when you’re starting from 0mph!

Whatever you do, please be sure to install at least one, ideally several working carbon monoxide (CO) detectors in your home. Gas fireplaces that aren’t vented correctly or that don’t burn off the fuel properly can produce carbon monoxide which is odorless, tasteless, colorless - essentially not detectable without specialized machinery - and can kill you or anyone in the home within minutes.

Pilea or coin plant. I’ve had some success propagating from stem cuttings, but not individual leaves (like a succulent). Once mine got big enough, volunteer plants came up in the same pot, then I lopped off the top (plant got too tall and fell over), sprouted roots in water and then potted.

Greedy companies irresponsibly jacking prices only to stuff more cash into executives’ wallets at the expense of paying living wages and decent benefits is a main driver of inflation. (Note these are predominantly large companies, e.g., Walmart or Amazon, who are seeing record profits and still raising prices, not mom-and-pop local businesses that are struggling to keep up like the rest of us.)

My assumption is that not everyone who is impacted by this takes the time to contact Septa. Without complaint data, it’s hard for them to see or understand the effects of these canceled buses. Never attribute to malice what can adequately be explained by incompetence, or however the saying goes.

I’ve had similar experiences with buses that look like they’re coming that just disappear off of tracking (either in the Septa app or Transit app) right before they’re supposed to arrive. I’ve had some luck messaging @SEPTA_SOCIAL on twitter - not sure if they do anything, but I think they at least log the complaint.

Use the transit app to map out a route. When I’ve done this (from Roxborough), I’ve taken the 9 or 27 bus to Center City, then switched to the MFL to get to Fishtown. Depending on the time of day, it can take ~1.5 hours.

Edit to add: If you’re close to a regional rail station that would be faster than a bus. Both the 9 and 27 go on 76 and can get stuck in traffic.
