what's the breakdown between cash and stock? pretty sure back in 1978 it was almost all cash and most of the current pay is stock. no one pays a CEO $200 million in cash or similar numbers

Study of the gut and mouth microbiomes of thousands of people from around the world raises the possibility that diseases linked to microbiome dysfunction, including cancer, diabetes, and obesity, could be partly transmissible. by MistWeaver80
i doubt it's transmissible but more likely that other than family you will socialize with people with like-minded dietary habits. the family factor is a mixture of genetics and a mixture of stubbornness where some people will only eat the food their parents made and will refuse to eat almost anything outside of their ethnic food style

most of that money won't even go to the LIRR or MNR or the outer boroughs. It will pay for projects in Manhattan so people don't have to walk an extra block to the subway and do nothing for the people who are driving in

LIRR and the MNR is the same way and people use it. I've been on packed LIRR trains out of Penn Station at evening and night time hours

just get to the station 5-10 minutes before the train

half of those are TL&C ride shares and yellow cabs, then trucks and then the leftover 1/4 to 1/3 are actual private cars

around 15 years ago NY passed a law for a new tax on property transfers to fund the MTA. the MTA is still going bankrupt and now they're looking for another tax. if congestion pricing passes they will be looking for a new MTA tax in another 15 years because the MTA takes on expensive projects they can't afford and allows the core of the system to stagnate and rot

I think there is a good chance that either late stone age people knew about precession or it was discovered long before the official greek discovery of it

when they get the trucks off the road or make them electric. those produce the most pollution
lost_in_life_34 t1_j3r03z7 wrote
newer cars from the last 20 years or so barely pollute except for CO2 which is by design. the pollution is from the brake dust and other road particulates and won't go away with electric cars.
