My son has gone for some of the open fencing sessions when they were just starting up…and now gets a discounted rate because he’s part of his high school team. He enjoys going and gets some practice against some really good fencers. The coaches seem pretty high caliber, although my son hasn’t done any individual lessons so can’t really speak to that. Whether the full rate is worth is is really a personal decision. If you’re hoping to get good enough to earn a scholarship to a D1 fencing program some day, then it may be worth it. If you’re just starting out and doing it for fun, maybe not.

I don’t think icy roads are gonna be a major concern along the I-95 corridor. There’s a good chance roads will have time to dry out a bit before temps dip below freezing late afternoon/eve Friday. Even if they ice up a bit, DOT will be out treating overnight tomorrow night and I can’t imagine any major issues come Saturday morning. As always just use caution and you should be fine.
