Yes, I had that promo too. Once it ends, the price jumps about $40/mo. Xfinity also charges $15/mo for a modem rental (you can buy your own but that's another cost) and $30/mo for unlimited data beginning 2024. Fidium's advertised prices also already include "Network Care".

They are still way cheaper than Xfinity and Spectrum at the Gigabit tier, even with the fee - and it's symmetrical with lower latency.

$700 is likely over 2500kWh for the month which is about 4x what the average home in Maine uses according to CMP. Do you have electric heat?

You can't avoid the fee but you can still use your own router. Just give them the MAC address.

Zero issues here, but I use my own router.

This is actually great advice if you don't have an immediate need for credit despite what finance bros like Dave Ramsay say. It's better to trash your credit for 7 years than trash your foreseeable financial future.

Unfortunately for CMP, perception is reality. This is especially true when it comes to referenda. CMP has an uphill battle to fight and they are the lowest ranked utility in the entire country. They are currently spending millions on astroturf campaigns, but they need rate increases to improve the grid? Best of luck to them, they're going to need it.

You're right, as far as I can tell the increase is only "proposed" for summer of 2023 at this time. That said, how often does the Maine PUC deny rate increases?

The supply rate standard offer has almost tripled since 12/31/2021
2021 - 0.064494
2022 - 0.118161
2023 - 0.176310
The delivery rate also increased in the summer of 2021 and is scheduled to increase another 30%. We'll be at about 0.30/kWh by this summer when factoring in both delivery and supply charges.

That was last year. It went up again to 0.176310/kWh on 01/01/2023.

Lamb of God, Amon Amarth, Cannibal Corpse, and Slayer had a decent pit at the Xfinity Center a few years back.

Route 9 from Calais is the scariest road I've ever driven on in snow. The large trucks do not slow down which can make for a white knuckle situation.

GA pit of course.
Snap, I just saw that price. We paid slightly more than that for a 4 day festival pass the last time we went to Wacken Open Air. Metal shows kind of suck here by comparison.

There are probably some unpopulated areas of Western Maine that would be ripe for a massive nuclear plant. They would be far enough removed from any population centers, unlike Maine Yankee, but the distribution will need to be figured out.
