yeah, these are big chunks, I can't wrap my arms around them. Trees must have been >100yrs old. So i think splitting will yield a lot.

They’re not doing apple picking this weekend, though. Just checked their website yesterday.

Reply to With Today being Iwo Jima day I just wanted to take a minute to show off CT's very own memorial in New Britain. It commemorates all that died in the battle but was mainly dedicated to the 100 men from Connecticut who lost their lives on this day 78 years ago by sporky211
My grandfather was a Marine in WWII and was part of the Iwo Jima battle, earned a purple heart there. Next month, I will be going to Iwo for the (covid-delayed) 75th anniversary "Reunion of Honor." Veterans from both US and Japan, as well as military brass from both sides. I'll post pics after I get back if there's any interest?
