They spin Ceres actually, but it's pretty much exactly your idea. Millions of people live in tunnels they have dug all throughout it, and it was spun up enough for the people to experience like .7G

So books should only be like $50-100+?

The Expanse book covers are almost like too zoomed in. They just kind of look like vaguely sci fi nothing.
Like I've read the first 4 books so far and I'm still not exactly sure what the covers of each are supposed to be.

Imagine they were just about done and followed the plot of the TV show, then he sees the reception and scraps the whole thing.

I feel like a lot of people forget that kids know what's up, adults just find it uncomfortable so they act like they don't.
Myself and all my friends knew about the existence of sex, murder, rape, racism, suicide, all that by like 3rd grade. Obviously we didn't know the specifics, but we knew of it and made dumb kid jokes.
I read the Da Vinci Code in like 5th grade, and while it is not exactly high art, it does have mature content.

You gotta do it in Goodreads format where you fill it with gifs and refer to the author like they are your friend like
"Steve, Steve, Steve... You've done it again ya brilliant bastard
Random gif
The Shining may have been your best one yet buddy. "

I feel a little guilty for liking the Enders Game series with Orson Scott Card being such a piece of shit. What is it with writers sneaking in the fact that they are ultra religious bigots?

Not trying to be misogynistic here or anything, but are there any men?
I would be happy to join any book club that reads books I'd like, but my fear is I'd be the only guy crashing ladies night and make it awkward.

What makes a book classic? Just time? Not trying to argue just curious.
I feel Vonnegut is as important, highly regarded, and influential as many other classics.
I also feel like Lonesome Dove could be considered a classic, but it is less than 40 years old.

I was very disappointed by "Anxious People", I went into it expecting a bottle episode type story about people held hostage and dealing with the stress of their potential untimely death.
It was just a bunch of unlikable characters working through their trauma and relationships with really no suspense.

Yea I wouldn't want to read something that doesn't allow me to follow it. I can understand if something is beyond my reading level or vocabulary, but if its purposely incomprehensible I think it's dumb and pretentious.

Since I stopped paying for ebooks I've gone from reading 2 a month to 9 a month. Should I cut down on 80% of my reading just to make sure Amazon gets their share?

>Do you feel entitled to walk into a bookstore and grab a second copy for free because you already "paid for access" to the text itself?
No because a book is an actual physical thing that costs money to produce, an ebook is not.
You have already supported the author and they are not losing anything by you downloading a different format.
Personally I think that someone having access to a book is always more valuable than a publisher getting paid, and don't see an issue with people pirating everything if it's not economically accessible. But if you feel the corporatist urge to make sure they get every cent they possibly can, go ahead.

It has tons of sci-fi gibberish all the time. Once you catch on the book isn't that hard to follow, but the beginning is pretty rough.
I think the appendix in the back has like 100+ made up terms
