Put a small chicken coop in the bed of an F-150 and WAM, your vehicle is a mobile coop farm vehicle that makes beer and grocery runs in between Agway and Tractor Supply.

Vermont's a constitutional republic and your claim of Vermont being a democracy is just as aggravatingly false and misleading as calling Vermont a monarchy.

There's a statutory exemption from inspections for farm vehicles. My neighbor has a hatchback beater for farm use with an orange reflective triangle attached to the back that he uses to run errands in town for farm supplies and travel between crop sites (wink wink)

Vermont roads aren't car-worthy yet your car must be roadworthy of their car-unworthy roads.

My lab has a favorite dog walking spot because the local kids hang out there and drop chicken nuggets and french fries.

Good to know. I'd happily pay more for milk knowing that my money goes to paying dignified farmer wages and local family farmers not Big Dairy Inc. I'll avoid the Hannaford brand. Perhaps they wont sign on because they source their milk from far away across multiple suppliers not New England?

They sell the same milk as any other store though.

Life is resilient so wouldn't that same ecosystem rehabilitate around 50 year old forest? I own land which was cleared for farming in the early 1800's which fell fallow so the forest encroached and there's living fossil neolectica irregularis mushrooms growing from the soil. All sorts of diversity.

How old must a tree be to be considered old?
mycophdstudent t1_iysxr58 wrote
Vermont is 78% woodland acres, more woodland acres than 130 years ago. It's okay to manage your forests and selectively lumber to make income on meeting home heating and building material needs.
