If you think the homeless situation is bad or depressing in Lancaster go to any other city in the state, especially the cities surrounding Lancaster. Not just York but Reading, Harrisburg, Coatsville, philly. I was referring to Lancaster county as a whole but the city has a lot to offer also. Gallery row on prince st, the vintage and hand made shops on queen st, the oldest operating central market in the state (country also I believe) the convention center and nightlife downtown. Lancaster city also has multiple large parks within the city and much of the city enjoys tree cover. Excellent local produce and livestock keep the many restaurants stocked. I could keep going but I'm about to go to a free concert downtown for Hispanic heritage month.

My sister and her best friend each bought a house in Lebanon. It's a pretty nice place, not too bad with crime, the streets seem to be pretty clean and it's a safe place for their kids. We are from Lancaster and it's close enough that she can come down here for fun. If you look at most of the cities in this part of PA it's probably on the better side as far as crime and drugs or urban blight (Lancaster is the jewel of Pennsylvania)

No that's because of field prepping for mono cropping, I farmed in Lancaster and my brother farms in York. We don't have factory farming on that scale in Lancaster, it's from the corn
