>Lastly, the idea that AGI will be coldly logical and robotic like Spock is dumb. Emotions are a form of intelligence. We have them for a reason - they are useful. If they weren’t useful, evolution would have selected for Spock, not emotions, in mammals.
They made sense in evolution where it created multiple intelligences to cooperate in order to survive in a hostile environment. Not so much in artificial intelligence where it was created in a lab.

They already admitted 'competitive landscape' aka money. Everything else is bullshit.

They said competitive landscape reasons or safety reasons but we all know it's the former.

but in industry, don't we want things to be cheap? cost might be a bigger factor than performance.

Where would you get the money and technology from? This cheaper thing is entirely dependent on them currently and won't be necessary once they have AI.

My dude there's no such thing as a narrow general AI. Narrow and general are antonyms. You've just described narrow AI.

Jobs don't really make geniuses. Most people are employed but most people are not geniuses. There's not even a correlation.

Why? There's no incentive to increase living standards.

ChatGPT has more under the hood, it's a finetuned version of 3.5 and it was trained on Text and data before 2021. It was using reinforcement learning with human feedback.
