The average Amsterdamer speaks a more understandable English to me than the average Texan. Do with that information what you will.

Not "Moonlight Mile" or "You Can't Always Get what You Want"?

Do yourself a favor and see Ben Kingsley as the overwhelming, intimidating bad guy in Sexy Beast. And then... watch him in Gandhi. Hard to believe it's the same guy.

Easily one of my all-time faves, too. You might enjoy my Best of The Rolling Stones playlist, the next time you have 182 minutes to kill.

Even though I landed on Sticky Fingers, I'm going to upvote you and say 'hear hear'. Neither one is the wrong answer.

For us longtime Stones heads, the holy trinity is Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, and Exile on Main Street. Some would include Beggar's Banquet on that Mt. Rushmore.
My favorite is always the last of those three that I've played. But right now, if you put a gun to my head, it's Sticky Fingers. 10/10 classic.

Most people have heard an REM song or two on the radio before... but it's always the wrong ones, IMO. If you want a song to start off right with them, I'd recommend "Fall On Me" from their Life's Rich Pageant album. It's a very accessible pop-rock song, but it's also fairly representative of their sound.

The entirety of the lyric is this: "Everybody knows that you are." That's the message.
Whatever it is that you are... everybody knows it. You're not fooling anyone. It's a waste of energy and time to deny it. So just be you. It's literally all you can do. And must do.
And just as that simple realization hits you, the song explodes into a revelatory, soul-enriching instrumental that takes you... there. Where you need to be.
Give it a try.

While I appreciate their integrity, at the end of the day I have to question their judgment.
It's a pop song. Yes, its lyrics have a deeper social significance and everything, and its authors aren't motivated by wealth. Awesome. But go ahead and license it for to all comers for millions of bucks, then maybe take that money and feed some fucking homeless people?
