We don't even control biology yet, much less high energy and advanced material science applications for all kinds of crazy shit. Space elevators? Climate control? Asteroid mining? All possible with the right advancements and each would be revolutionary on it's own.

There are certain areas where we will have seen a given technology mature or improve to the point where a new paradigm must be found for further advancement, but that's usually in the realm of precision and limits of things at the atomic scale: Moore's law will not survive such limits, for example.

So the future is not a linear progression from here, but there's plenty of technology left to create.

Which is actually perfectly valid from a certain perspective. But I think your simile is not really accurate... in the case of time dilation your entire presence is not experiencing time at the same rate, which is simply one method of time travel. With sleeping the time travel is purely experiential.

This. I've recently gotten a lot more fit and found health benefits all around.

I think it's more than just strength too... profusion of more blood through your system should enable your organs to function better.

Yeah that too LOL panpsychism makes more sense to me. Though I will say that information does need to be integrated into the bound contexts of qualia, so I do think it's necessary, just not sufficient.

This tracks with how I think about it. The problem with IIT has always been that information is integrated at many scales, and we don't have any reason to believe that qualia is generated at all (or any) of them. Humans integrate information between themselves through conversation and collaboration. Is there experience happening as a result? Where? That doesn't make any sense to me...

Advice to anyone selling a home anywhere:

  1. Your real estate agent wants to close the deal and move on. They don't care about getting you the best price, they care about getting their commission and moving on.
  2. When a realtor sells their OWN home, they are on the market for 90 days longer than when they sell someone else's home (traditionally anyway, hot markets can obviously change things). Think about that. They know the right buyer will eventually come along and don't compromise.
  3. Realtors live in a rent-seeking industry that extracts far more value than they provide. Use disruptors like RedFin or list on your own to save at least a couple percent.

And if you do use a realtor, take their proposed list price and add 10%.

Cool pic OP!

The feathers really stuck out for me as I was just reading this morning that mothman apparently has leathery, bat-like wings... which I hadn't really heard before. That's not to criticize your pic for having feathers, just thought it was interesting.
