Fair haven heights has a lot of good, cheap apartments. Also check out the yale housing Facebook group, lots of cheaper apartments there. City bus service is free for the foreseeable future so if you don’t have a car you can still live in the other peripheries where it’s cheaper and not be cut off.

I’ve been working in the restaurant industry up here for close to ten years. You wanna go eat some expensive slop, that’s on you.

What do you think compares? Olea and union league are boring old people food with shitty ambience and service. Olea almost killed my friend with a nut allergy on two separate occasions on something easy (romesco sauce). September in Bangkok is super hit or miss with the food, my wife loves that place so we eat there pretty frequently and half the time my food is disgusting. Noa isn’t any better. And the service sucks at both places. Sherkaan is great if you like food served out of hotel pans. Plus none of those places have drinks like tavern on state either.

Tavern on state and fair haven oyster company are the only two amazing restaurants in new haven. Everything else is just ok at best.

I work at a bar downtown. We regularly get out 2-4 am. I drive but 75% of my coworkers Uber. You’ll be fine.

I’m not sure how true it is, I’m just a bartender who hears a lot of hearsay from city and state employees when they’re out drinking.

Apparently a bunch of years back they shot down red light cameras as they were trying to revitalize downtown and didn’t want to discourage people from outside new haven from coming to the city on account of tickets.

Apparently if you eat 2 tablespoons of nutmeg you trip your face off. Prolly just from the horrible flavor of choking down two whole tablespoons of nutmeg in the first place.

You gotta know somebody. I got a super sweetheart deal on a 2 bedroom but if you’re new in town you are most likely shit out of luck.
