Like 15 years ago I heard they were offered something like $1 million just for the business, NOT even the building.
Nearby in Andorra is Pina's pizza, whose pizza boxes have very Christian sayings on it (ex: Walk With The Lord). Supposedly the owner had problems/debts but found himself long time ago. Although I've read thats a bit playing a part or overcompensating things.

That'd be great if the car had an app, kinda like Uber. You could turn it into self driving mode & send it to up the police station. Have like a drive thru window there, "Next!"

Developers sell it with the myth of 'Millenials moving in who don't own cars'.

There's hardly a plot of land available in Manayunk. They're buidling triplexes there like its the Jersey Shore.
There's already about 5 or 6 of these complexes along the water, this one will add very little. A cool extension of the SRT so people don't have to dart onto Main Street for a bit would be a nice tradeoff. But seriously all this does is add more traffic. Its outta control the last 10+ years with all these new things that've gone up.

I'd say around the millinium (1999-2001ish) we did have AI, Lindros, McNabb, and Phillies were beginning to show promise with Burrell, JRoll beginning to come up (especially after JD Drew screwed the team over refusing to sign here).
While the championships weren't all there that era, the franchise players & promise were there.

I'll take the Boulevard over endless stop signs & intersections any day. Can't see crossing cars coming who are likely to roll thru the sign, and creeping up to peek feels dangerous.

Its funny, the older you get you think "40s aren't a thing anymore". Then you realize, they are, it just stays with the 19-21 year old crowd. :)

Well, yeah, the 80 year old lawyer types who have offices in the 20th floor & up with their names on the firms name. Those types of lawyers. Sit in big oak chairs and everything. Haven't stood in a courtroom in 20-30 years.

Aritocrats. The movers & shakers of the city. The types who mingled with the Ed Rendells of the world. Alot of high end lawyers and political influencers and such.

Camden Aquarium. If you're driving, Donkeys Place (cheesesteaks) in Camden is the bomb! Fries are great too.
They also have one in Mt Holly & somewhere else too, but the OG is kinda cool. Safe in the daytime.

There's jobs paying $100 grand within a bike ride of theses areas tho. Not the same for AC. Their best shot is making it attractive to WFH Philly & NYers, or cheaper 2nd home & AirBnB properties.

All 3 were already gentrified in the timelines you gave. Fishtown 2007, yeah I almost bought there. Fairmount 2002 was definitely fine, and Manayunk 1992 was yuppie-fying already. None were nearly dangerous. Is AC hopeless, no I don't think so. But it needs A LOT. Mostly, attract WFH employees, improve the schools, and create jobs for the locals. It all sorta ties together, but requires time & investment. Also a little help from mother nature by no major flooding in the next decade or two.
In fairness, as sketchy as the boardwalk can get, I don't think there's been any gunpoint robberies, which I can't say the same for Center City and Philly as a hole, so there's hope!

That's literally the exact opposite of what the OPs referring to. The police did see a crime being committed, they did something, and they were the ones who were sued.
Maybe that's why they've given up.
