"Wild Oats" is really good, it's like an upscale deli, has really good baked goods too. "The great impasta" was another fave, yummy Italian, garlic knots to die for. Those are ones I remember that are still around.

Brunswick has a bunch of great restaurants downtown and you will basically have to drive right through it to get to harpswell. we loved the Indian place (forgot the name, sorry!) If you decide to eat in harpswell, for sure call any restaurant first. The town basically shuts down in the winter for restaurants, or at least it used to when we lived in the area 10 plus years ago.

Plenty of trails near north conway nh, just about 1.5 for you to get to the white mountains from Portland. Dozens of trails off the kankamangus, or at great glen trails, Jackson ski touring snowshoe trails, bear notch if you don't mind paying $25 or so. But some trail heads in white mt national forest are free, or pretty cheap to park at ($5) off the kankamangus.

The "chopping" things off is a fallacy. That isn't not being done in the USA, except in extreme cases. Certainly not in NH. This is the kind of thing that brings bomb threats down on children's hospitals for no reason. The most that is being done is the removal of breast tissue, which is reversible if wanted. Drugs, etc are reversible.

I'm making a statement about mental health in general, not the homeless camp or this particular woman. It's safe to say not everyone who has severe mental health problems takes their meds or the meds work consistently, I think we can all agree on that. That effects how they react to situations.

I hope you never have to deal with someone with severe mental health issues. Their ability to make rational decisions can be different from day to day, hour to hour. The article mentions she has gotten help in the past and has a hard time staying on meds. That's how it is for many with severe mental health issues. It's hard to blame her without specific evidence she wanted to kill her baby.
