I’ll not try to convince you. The info is from the US Dept of Labor. I have been pressured to come in early and work off the clock when the director of my department wanted to move the start times from 5:00am to 5:30am to avoid paying shift bonus. Most people don’t want an adversarial relationship with their employer so they go along with what the boss wants.

Employers paying less than they are supposed to or agreed to. Most common are things like not paying increased rate for overtime or making people work through breaks and work off the clock before or after their shift.

They were probably getting sued and wanted to look good before trial came.

Some people want to think that wage theft by employers is not a much larger and more common crime. Fraud is not ok, but this story is isolated, wage theft is not.

Wage theft by employers is the biggest money crime in the US. We will see stories like this, but nothing about the much larger crime of rich people stealing from workers. Par for the course in America

The people least fit to be in positions of power are the only ones who can get them.

Unfortunately this is true. We need to change our government of ethics and morality matter to us at all. An ethics committee that is not a part of the group it oversees would be a start. If they get to grade themselves, they will get an A+ every time.

In such a red state I’m surprised they want government involvement in people’s personal business. I thought GOP was all about being free from govt?

Yeah that’s my issue exactly. I’m open to having an intelligent discussion with someone with different views, but the intelligence is usually lacking and is often replaced with vitriol and aggression.

You’re right. I’d rather be out in the mountains at a campsite looking forward to a hike the next morning.

Yeah it’s just a very negative and confrontational space. There is opportunity for positive exchange, but so many people feel the need to chime in with insults and useless comments. I’m open to different perspectives and opinions that I don’t agree with, but the way it plays out on twitter is pointless.

Have you noticed a change for the worse in terms of negative interactions and people who chime in just to fight and throw insults? I can’t get into that kind of thing so it’s definitely time for me to go.

I only had one for about 9 months or so. At first it was nice to interact with people and hear different perspectives, but it has turned into vast majority negative interactions.

Yeah no sense just complaining. The ratio of negative to positive interactions was skyrocketing, and I’m not a negative person so… it was time to go.

Whatever you say Jack. For some strange reason common people get weirdly offended when they hear that big corporations are taking advantage of workers. It’s really mysterious to me.
