I don't think the mechanic is being unreasonable here. Some will enforce the standards, no matter how stringent and others might pass where some wouldn't. I wish I had checked around at garages before getting my car inspected.

A large amount of underneath rust will also fail a car. I've tried to look into undercoating but I've heard it's worth getting done if just to be able to pass. I had a truck that failed nearly 10 years ago for too much rust.

Well for one thing, I don't display trashy stickers on my vehicle or wear shirts with trashy messages like the rest of the mouth-breathing 45 worshipers. That alone is enough to make me better than them if you ignore education level. ;)

You can tell when someone has only a HS education when they think it's acceptable to display stickers like this. Trashy AF and not sure what they're trying to prove.

Once again, it comes down to balance. People shouldn't be demonized for just trying to survive. I know people who lived/are living in campers and it's not fun during the winter time. These folks normally would rent an apartment but there aren't any that they can afford/too far from work.

On the other hand, if you're using a public lot/public property, pick up after yourself. I can see why these NIMBYs were riled up. Pretty soon, VT will be nothing but Boomer BANANA-NIMBYs that own all the property and hoard all the power. It's already there I believe.
