How about Third Place for a drink then T’s Wine Bar next door for dinner if the date is going well?

Me too. Couldn’t care less about the rest of the entire building, we just need decent bagels downtown.

Not saying you are wrong but I used Urban Connections and did not pay a broker fee in 2022.

Terrible management and dilapidated construction mostly, look at their reviews.

The assessment is off by 10% or so and it won’t impact your taxes… appealing seems like a huge effort for very little to gain. If your valuation is high then everyone of your neighbors will be too, they use the same methodology for everyone.

Maybe the building was owned by BLT? Wouldn’t surprise me if those scumbags hiked the rent an outrageous amount

This building is owned by BLT, who on the whole have a horrible reputation in Stamford. Many people who live in BLT properties report horrible management / maintenance issues / low quality construction etc. One of the BLT buildings had its foundation fail and the building was evacuated before it sunk into the ground... not good.
I can't speak for Escape specifically, but I would suggest you look downtown instead unless there is something which specially attracts you to Harbor Point.

Yep, Soufi is the answer! It's the best barbershop in town IMO. All the people in there are really good and it's decent value for money at $35.

66 Summer is one of the best buildings in town IMO - I also live on Summer St downtown. The Target-only grocery store issue is one we all face!

You might have better luck with visiting one of the food trucks on Long Wharf Drive in New Haven. I know that's 40 mins away but it's a lot of fun and the food trucks are very authentic.

As someone who is looking to buy in Stamford soon, this is quite scary. Will they be adjusting the mill rates down to compensate for the increased valuations? Stamford's rate is already way higher than Greenwich/Darien IIRC.

Best advice on here. 95% of retail investors who trade options lose money, it's just not worth the upside OP.

Hands down the most gorgeous, magical Christmas lighted house I’ve ever seen is on Interlaken Road, just by Designs By Lee garden center. Worth the trip!

Don’t get me wrong I love Stamford, but the winter stroll looks extremely poor for the $20 ticket price. Kids are free which is some consolation but I would spend your money on something else.

Agreed, staying in Stamford is a very viable option - it's genuinely one of the best places to live in the USA.
ruthless_apricot t1_ixwki41 wrote
Why not Stamford? A big part of Stamford's appeal is it's proximity to NYC as it has the best trains to the city of anywhere in CT. For me that's a big deal, but it depends how much you like all the stuff New York has to offer.
If I was going for somewhere more beautiful with less good access to NYC, I think Ridgefield is lovely.

Yes $2000+ for a 1 bed, $1600 will get you a studio (if you’re lucky). The further you go from downtown the rents will decrease a little but not by much.

Excellent suggestions. A nice grocery store downtown is what I want most! Something like an Amazon Fresh would do so well here with the young professionals (like me).

Starbucks in Target isn't too far and I usually need to go to Target for stuff anyway. Bonus points if you climb the stairs to burn some extra calories before your coffee!
