I'm a "don't eat until the pots and pans are cleaned up" type of person.
Once the food is on the stove, I get everything cleaned up and put away while the food is cooking.
When the food is finished cooking, I put my food on my plate and rinse the pots and pans hot off the stove after I transfer the food.
I've found that if I do this, before anything has a chance to cool off and set up, the food residue rinses right off the pots and pans instantly. It's so much faster that it's worth taking the extra minute or so before eating.

I would expect that a generational ship would only accept married couples for that very reason.

People have been doing this forever - not so different from getting on a sailing ship 200+ years ago and leaving to start a colony on a new continent. Your shipmates become your new family, and everyone else is left behind forever. Lots of people did that.

Go google pictures of Evel Knievel. It's absolutely him and not Dukes of Hazzard.
We all scraped and bruised ourselves up trying to jump over the local drainage ditch on our Schwinns.

That was Evel Knievel's outfit, not confederate flags.

Reply to Ted Koppel, 1980. Nightline started as a daily update during the Iran hostage crisis. In the decades after Walter Cronkite retired, Koppel continued the practice of thorough, factual reporting. by L0st_in_the_Stars
I remember that. We watched it every night. I also remember the day that he announced that the daily broadcast was being formalized into his new program called "Nightline."
It had the same sort of in-the-moment immediate vibe as the daily press conferences in the early days of the Covid shutdown.
