Get a cheesesteak at Tony’s of West Reading. It’s better than 99.9% of the joints in Philly. Pizza is legit too.

West Chester is walkable with a good mix of casual and fancier restaurants and quite a few bars as well. There is a hotel in town but there’s also several within ubering distance. A lot of the places being suggested here are (in my opinion) a little too spread out to be considered walkable.

Try to get him into Nemours in Delaware. They are absolutely the best for kids’ mental health.

Reply to I’m kind of a craft beer noob, but I think it might be my new thing. What are the best breweries/taphouses in the Philly metro? by SculpinIPAlcoholic
Local 44 in West Philly has a nice tap list. Others have mentioned Monk’s, which is top-notch (be sure to check out their bottle menu if you like lambic). Outside the city proper, Teresa’s (Wayne), Capone’s (Norristown) and Pinocchio’s (Media) all have fantastic tap lists. Capone’s, in particular, has bucket list beers on tap pretty much all the time.

Ricketts Glen State Park is pretty amazing if you’re into nature and, specifically, waterfalls. One of the coolest nature-type getaways I’ve had within the state of Pennsylvania.
