It seems like it should be relatively straight forward. but you might have to ask them (the town) what you need to confirm. Some towns are pickier than others for sure. We needed a curb cut permit (there were specifics on like how big the culvert had to be and how wide the driveway had to be at the street), and a permit for the house. I think that was it. The WW permit you already have. The well is already there. Is the barn worth saving? When I think VT barn... I think pretty basic, maybe not great foundation, etc.

I paid $2500 a few years ago each for very simple 1 outdoor/1 indoor unit , wall mount outside and run straight up the wall to an outside wall. I ran the electric to the outside wall. This is for the Fujitsu RLS3H. all sizes (9/12/15) cost about the same. I expect prices a bit more these days just because of COVID, etc.

This single unit pretty much heats our entire home 1800 sqft well insulated and sealed. We have a tiny 11k btu Rinnai in the basement which I really like to have for backup.

One time our neighbor went out of town and told us to keep an eye on their house, but failed to mention to us that the OTHER neighbor would be feeding their fish or cat or something like that. First we called the neighbor and asked... could there be ANYONE in your house? No nobody should be in our house.

So yes we did call the VSP. Then had to do the whole NEVERMIND thing.

honestly I have had this experience in VT, seems to have shifted over the years to using the real stuff by default.

The worst offense I've seen is fake crap put into a real maple syrup container and being served in a restaurant in VT...

Then there are the restaurants out of state calling the fake "maple syrup" ; they just don't know any better.
