Seems chill but wild shit goes down at that family dollar or some really odd shit like the shooting outside the elementary school?!?! And I remember how close it is to south side plaza.

Paying 7 nickels every time you cross the bridge gets old fast too.

The wealthy white people of the state used the Dillon rule, the outlawing of annexation, and independent city law unique to Virginia to keep all of the cities needs within city limits but it’s benefits accesable to anyone who can drive in and out.

It has a lot of the needs of larger metros but not the resources to fix them.

There are tons of poor people in town but because the rich people fled across imaginary borders and into the suburbs the money to address these issues is kept out of reach.

So the schools generally suck, utilities don’t work, and our government is populated by openly corrupt locals, resume builders, and naive disinterested weirdos.

IIRC there is a HUGE chinese population in parts of maryalnd.

At one point the best chinese in DC was in the hotel lobby of like a Holiday Inn that a bunch of Chinese nationals were staying in.

Looks like it was a Days Innhttps://www.onlyinyourstate.com/dc/hidden-chinese-food-restaurant-washington-dc/

" Because it's attached to the Days Inn where the Chinese Embassy housed their workers while doing renovations (for obvious reasons, they imported their workers). "

IIRC he was the chef at the chinese embassy and then his first few resteraunts were in Williamsburg but were more of a take out model whereas the Richmond Resteraunt is focused on dine in. Of course they offer take out, and he has other concepts, like the noodle place in the west end next to a Wal-Mart? I don't know if that survived as that concept or what.
He also notoriously bounces around to his many different locations and real Chang-heads/food critics will always want to know where he is cooking to get a taste of that real-real.

Last I heard all the tickets at the Flagship get translated into mandarin for the line Chefs. So good luck substituting anything lol.

Only working springs in the city are church hill and wayside in forest hill.

The architecture remains of the one at carter Jones park. Without knowing you might mistake it for a skatepark or foundation of a building.

There is a cage around the remaining infrastructure of a spring at the park adjacent to 95 near rays big burger.

I have an interest in the springs and never got any info about one out there and I lived near those roads. Would love to know anything you find out.
