There's a lot of layers of denial.

  1. Climate change isn't happening.
  2. It is happening, but it's not man-made.
  3. It's happening and it's man-made, but we're doing enough right now.
  4. Happening, man-made, but we've got time.
  5. Happening, man-made, but technology will save us.
  6. Too late to stop.
  7. Happening, man-made, but there's nothing an ordinary person can do. (Sadly, this one might be correct.)

There's been a lot of resources spent convincing people not to stop the petroleum industry's gravy train. You can't expect to fight that alone and win everytime.

>According to an affidavit, Eckersley called 911 around 12:30 a.m. on Monday to report she had given birth in the woods of Manchester.

>At around 1:30 a.m., Eckersley was placed back into an ambulance to warm up. While speaking with an EMT, she said the baby was on the Goffstown side of the footbridge and should still be inside her tent, the report said.

>She said she gave birth around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, an affidavit said, but her boyfriend could not find a pulse on the child.

>One of the officers noted a lot of blood in a bed with blankets and a trail of blood from the bed area. The tent, a tarp, had items strewn inside and on the ground.

A lot going on here.

A mentally ill woman lives in a camping tent. She gave birth seemingly by herself in freezing weather.

The first time help is offered is in the form of police coming to take that newborn away. Let's not bullshit here, that woman didn't have the resources to care for a newborn and that baby wasn't staying there.

That is a brutal system.
